Last week my mom, sister and I paid a visit to the fabric store to pick out some fabric for a baby quilt for a coworker. For a while now I have been wanting to try a spiderweb quilt. I was a little nervous to start, and frustrated at how crooked the fabric store cut my yardage, but I “seam” to be on a roll (or a “bolt”– OK, that was a real stretch, haha). I knew I wanted to go with a black and white theme, and it was my mom’s genius idea to throw in the chartreuse. I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Here’s a picture of me with my work in progress.
(updates to follow.)
The next project I am working on is…wedding invitations! That’s right, I’m gonna get married! This is my second attempt at carving a rubber stamp. My first attempt was back in Girl Scouts, which wasn’t as long ago as you might think.
This is what our dining room table looked like last night. I had the invitations and the quilt going, and James was working on a film project.
A quick note: I just transferred to a dayshift position, so I am hoping to have much more time for projects. Yay!
